Happy Birthday Ms. Beth!

Last Saturday, June 21, it was my dearest friend’s birthday – Ms. Beth. We celebrated her special day in a special way, in a special place, with special people. It was her team’s idea actually. They wanted a different surprise party for their “Ma’am Beth”, so they organized an out reach program.

We went to the House of Refuge Foundation Inc. in Marikina City and celebrated Ms. Beth’s birthday with the children living there. Here are some of the pictures taken during the party. We played party games like trip to jerusalem, paper dance and stop dance. It was fun! :-)

The children also prepared a surprise for Ms. Beth. They danced the swing and sing the "Welcome to the Family" song. Here is their video. Enjoy!

It was a different, enlightening and fun experience for me. I am thinking of doing the same kind of celebration for my birthday. Actually, you don't need special occasions to be with these children. You can spend time with them by becoming volunteers. The house of refuge welcomes volunteers and they also accepts donations/sponsorships.
