Are You Proud to be a Filipino?

The devastating tragedy last weekend was all over the news for the last 3 days. And every time I watched it, I can’t help but feel sad and get teary-eyed. I am really thankful that my family is safe. Though we had a moment of distress when my sister-in-law and nephews were stranded in the street; but that is nothing compared to what my other kababayans went through. Watching the news and seeing those people who are cleaning their houses, trying to start with their lives again, are truly unimaginable.

On my way to work today, I noticed some heart warming sights while passing the Elliptical Road in Quezon City . There were all sorts of vehicles loaded with relief goods and volunteers. Probably they are going to Tandang Sora, where GMA Kapuso’s Warehouse is located or in the University of the Philippines , where the different colleges and local organizations organized their relief operations.

This is one thing I love (and I am proud) about being a Filipino. We stand together in times of trouble; united with one goal. We never lose hope, even if it seems, there's nothing left to hope for. Our faith keeps us strong to fight all the challenges life has to offer.
