Afternoon Snack at Razon's

Monday, December 28. Back to work. Sounds sad and corny huh? While everyone is on vacation already, we are still in the office. Well, it is not really that bad, especially if you spend your afternoon break at Razon's with your friends/colleagues (big grin).

After our delicious lunch meal in KFC, courtesy of our general contractor, who gave me KFC gift checks for Christmas, my pregnant colleague requested halo-halo for our afternoon snack. We've been forbidding her to eat halo-halo; but she said that she's already giving birth next month and now is the best time to eat the food that she was forbidden to eat. And so, we gave in to her request.
We went to Razon's at the UP-AyalaLand TechnoHub, and ordered 3 halo-halo and one arroz caldo. My colleague A has a sore throat, so she just ordered arroz caldo.

Look at the yummy leche flan on top of the halo-halo. Yummy!

And this is the hot, delicious arroz caldo of A. The chicken looks tasty.

This is C, enjoying the hal0-halo.

Dutch Master Cigars - Vitamin C for Big Boys

We'll be saying goodbye to year 2009 in a couple of days. And as most people do during this time of the season, I also have my list of new year's resolution. One of the items in my list is quitting my bad habits (big grin). I admit that I have a number of bad habits that I longed to break; but sometimes it is really hard to break these habits, especially if these habits give you pleasure and relief. Anyway, one of the bad habits I have is "Vitamin C". Hold on a second, the Vitamin C I am referring here is the little stick that I would light up whenever I feel stressed at work and depressed in life (big grin). I had to use a code, because many of my love ones does not know that I am a Vitamin C user (shhh.. that's our secret okay). I like the lights and menthol vitamin C. Its been my companion for more than 5 years now. But I only have it when I'm in the office or when I'm out with friends; I don't use them at home. I have tried several types of it, menthol, lights, red, strawberry flavor, chocolate flavor and also the thick and thin sticks (big grin). I even thought of trying the big Vitamin C like the Dutch Master cigars, hehehe.. I have seen my grandfather enjoyed them, especially while he's relaxing in front of the house. But my thoughts of trying the big Vitamin C had remained a thought. I think that's a good thing. And besides, I can't imagine myself holding that big Vitamin C. They look nice when my Grandfather is holding them. Big Vitamin Cs are for big boys (big grin).

New Year, New Theme for My New Blog

I spent the whole weekend preparing and updating my latest blog - Jhudiel's Journal. For the last couple of months, I have been planning to change the theme of Jhudiel's Journal. Click on the photo below to know more about Jhudiel's Journal and how I am planning to change it.

Last Christmas Day, I finally decided to proceed with this plan. The first thing I thought of doing is to change Jhudiel's button. Below is Jhudiel's first button. Its a photo of my Starbucks Planner (big grin). I placed it in my bed and took photos of it. I have had several shots, but this one is the best I got; and so I used it as Jhudiel's button.

The layout of Jhudiel's Journal will remain. I will not change it. The pretty, long-haired girl will still be seen in Jhudiel's Journal layout. By the way, the theme of Jhudiel's Journal is courtesy of my blogger friend Shaine. She helped me set up this theme she created.

But I changed the blog description though. Here is the new blog description for Jhudiel's Journal

Share this wonderful journey with me.
As I try to live life to the fullest before kicking the bucket.

Chronicled, cherished and treasured.

This is my bucket list.

I was able to create several posts already. I hope you can visit it and find out Who is Jhudiel? And What is a Bucket List?

These are the photos of Jhudiel's Journal new button. I want to call it a lucky charm. I have taken several shots but these two are my top choices. Currently, I am using the lucky charm above. I think it looks nice more than the lucky charm below (smiles).

I hope you can visit Jhudiel's Journal often; and find out more about my bucket list. And I am also hoping that somehow you'll be inspired by it. I feel that everyone should have their bucket list. Somehow it would help us keep our focus in planning, living life and remembering life how we enjoyed it.

I also hope that you had a good weekend. To see more PixelBug Weekend Post, click on the lucky lady bug charm below. You are also welcome to join us at PixelBug. Hope to see you next weekend!

New Year, New Plans

In a few days, year 2009 will bid goodbye; and a new year will start. I'm sure there's a lot of people out there thinking of their plans for the next year. Some might plan for a new career, some might plan for new adventures, and some might plan for new material things that they aim to have and achieve on the next year. I am actually one of those who are planning to have a new career next year (big grin). For the last couple of months, I have been thinking a lot about what it is that I really want to do with my professional life. Been working as part of an Admin Support group for quite a long time now. And I feel that it is now time for me to move on; it is now time for me to make a change.

I have been visiting job search engines for the last couple of months. And I have had a few job interviews too. But unfortunately, until now I have not received any good offers yet (sad face). Well, I guess that's just how it goes (smiles). I know that I just have to continue searching and grabbing new opportunities. Actually, I also tried browsing for more job search engines, and as I was doing that, I found this site job search philadelphia that would certainly allow job hunters search jobs easily. We have the same kind of job search engine in the Philippines. They surely are convenient to use; and truly helpful for job seekers.

How about you? What are your new plans for the new year? Wishing you good luck and lots of love for the year 2010! Happy Holidays everyone!

Christmas Photos 2009

I would like to share some of our photos yesterday. My nieces and nephews were all present. They are the sons and daughters of my cousins. After the eating and gift giving sessions, the kids set up the mini-billiard table outside the house and play.

My nephew Rain also wants to play billiards. And so he kept on grabbing the stick from his brother. He was also getting the ball from the table. Because of this, the big boys was not able to play properly (big grin). They can't do anything to stop Rain from grabbing the billiard balls. Whenever they try to get the balls from Rain, he would cry his heart out... hehehe..

My cousin had to bring Rain inside the house so the big boys can play.

Here are the big boys. They finally got the chance to play billiards when my cousin brought Rain back to the house.

These are my cousins and their sons. The photo on the right side is P. He is a hustler in billiards. He was the one teaching his cousins to play.

Here are the photos of Rain, as he tries to play the billiard. His brother and cousins can do anything to stop him. They just stand there and watch Rain as he tries to get the balls and shoot them.

Christmas Get-Together

This was supposed to be my PixelBug Weekend post last Monday. Unfortunately, I was not able to prepare a post because of my headache that Sunday evening. And I was not able to work on it until now because I've been busy with work, with family preparing for Christmas and with friends trying to complete their shopping list before Christmas day.

Anyway, last Saturday, I met with my friends from college. They are my classmates on my junior and senior year in college. We are actually five in the group; we are a "barkada" of five ladies. Two of my friends are already married. And they already have sons of their own. The other three barkada members, including myself, are still single (and available, hehehe....)

We had lunch in Glorietta, Makati. One of my friend brought her son with her. He was a very smart boy; and naughty too (big grin), funny-naughty little boy. Her Mom is the lady in the photo above.
This is Aedan busy with his Christmas gift from Tita Pam. She gave him a puzzle. He was very excited opening the gift. And as soon as he saw that its a puzzle, he immediately went to the other table and started putting the pieces together.

This is Tita J. She is still single and available. If you are interested (all the single guys out there!) (big grin), just leave me a note and I'll arrange a date for you (big grin). My other single friend was not able to join us that day because she was not feeling well.

And this is Mommy Pam. Later that afternoon, after our lunch and exchange gifts at the restaurant, we went to Dusit Hotel to meet with Pammy's family and relatives. We continued our chit-chat and catching-up at the Hotel. After 2-3 hours we finally call it a day; but we still got lots of things to talk about. We got a lot of catching-up to do, but we need to call it off already. Its getting late and Pammy also has to spend time with her family.

This is Tita Pammy and Aedan with his Christmas gift.

Christmas At The TechnoHub

Sharing here some photos of the UP-AyalaLand TechnoHub retail area. The place looks more nicer this Holiday Season because of the Christmas balls that are all over the fountain area. I suggest that you visit the place at night to better appreciate the Christmas balls and the fountain.

This ain't the moon (big grin). Its one of the Christmas balls at the TechnoHub.

The Christmas balls change its colors every few seconds. This one is color pink!

This one is blue!

Here is a photo of the fountain area. Nice is it not?

Here is another kind of Christmas ball that you can see at the fountain area of the TechnoHub.

There are lots of restaurants around the fountain area where you can dine with your family and friends while enjoying the nice view of the water fountain and of course the colorful christmas balls.

The UP-AyalaLand TechnoHuib is located at the Commonwealth Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines.

Cardboard Displays

I was at the mall a couple days ago with my officemates. They are shopping for gifts and I decided to join them; it was also a bonding moment for us. One of my colleagues bought a celphone, while the other bought a digicam (ain't that nice.. gadgets galore!). While we were shopping, I noticed that the item displays were very different nowadays. The marketing and promotional measures surely have changed a lot. There are already prototypes of gadgets and colorful cardboard displays that would definitely catch your attention. I was amazed with the celphone prototypes that are on display at the store. They really look like the real thing. I think it is cool idea to have prototypes and colorful cardboard displays; I think its an effective way of promoting. Well, it surely had an effect on me and my colleagues. We went home with smiles on our faces, especially my two colleagues who now have a new celphone and a new digicam.

Holiday Blues?

I don't feel good today. I'm feeling grouchy and emotional at the same time (bad combination). I kept myself busy, updating my blogs the whole morning, watched a little tv and back to my blogging again. I am trying to keep my mind away from thoughts that I don't want to think about. If only I can also keep myself away from all these thoughts, things and happenings.. I have done it a loooong time ago. I am trying to keep my cool. I am trying to accept the fact that change does not happen over night. Geez.. I just want to sleep for a long, long, long time; I don't want to think. And now, the day is about to end; tomorrow I am going back to the office.. back to work again. Maybe I'll sleep early tonight. It might help in preparing my mind.. in preparing myself for another week at work. Sigh.. sigh.. and more sigh. I think the holiday season added more stress and depression to my ever stressed and depressed life. Sigh..

Thursday Night Traffic

Our Thursday at the office was very busy. Busy in the sense that we had a couple of bonding moments for the day. We had lunch together at the Red Kimono restaurant, courtesy of my colleague/friend Tesa. And after office, we went to the mall to accompany Tesa in buying baby clothes for Tj (the baby boy inside her tummy)(big grin). Tesa is due to have Tj next month.

We left the office at around 6:30pm. It was very traffic! We were actually near the mall area when we got caught in traffic. And while waiting for the traffic to move, I took pictures of my friends using my handy-dandy free celphone from Smart.

When we finally made it to the mall, we went straight to the department store. There are so many people inside. Most of them probably are shopping for their exchange gifts for Friday's Christmas parties. We went home around 9pm after having a light snack at the food court.

Hello Kitty.. Buh-bye Mimi..

Last Monday, our neighbor gave us a cat. My niece was very excited because we have a new pet! Am too is excited because I love pets and I love cats. Here are the photos of kitty.

I call her kitty cat (creative huh? hehehe...) She looks smart, because she really is a smart cat. She keeps away from Poochie's territory.

And our neighbor says kitty cat is "potty-trained". She goes to the comfort room whenever nature calls (big grin) or she goes outside the house or in the garden to take a leak.

Unfortunately, my Mother returned kitty cat back to our neighbor (sad face). Apparently, kitty cat goes under our kitchen sink instead of going to the comfort room. My niece was very sad that day. She was in school when my Mother gave the cat back to our neighbor.

Now we only got Poochie and the two rabbits, Playgirl and Playboy, as our pets. No more kitty cat.

Busy, Stressful Week

In case you have not noticed, my last post before this one is almost a week ago. Sad to say, but yes, I was not able to share new posts after Sunday. Though I got lots of stories and photos to share, I was not able to write and post them because I was too tired to do so. It's been a very busy week last week. There's been a lot going on in the office - corp planning, Christmas party, and a lot more company activities - they are all happening at the same time. It was a busy week and a very stressful one. My stress is more on emotional stress (sad face). I have been going through a lot with my "career" for the last few months; been doing a lot of thinking, planning and soul searching. And it is really not easy. But I am thankful that somehow I am able to cope with the physical and emotional stress (am I?)(hehehe..bgi grin) through prayers. Whenever I feel like giving up or exploding to pieces, I just pray. I talk to Him; and asking for wisdom and patience. I guess that's the positive side of all these not-so-good-things that's happening to me - I become more close to Him and I always talk to Him. Nice.

Anyway, watch out for my new posts and photos to share!

Sunday: Pampering Day

For this week's Pixel Bug Weekend post, I would like to share some photos I took using my new Nokia celphone. It has a built in 2megapixel camera. And these photos will show you that it surely takes good photos.

I had a very long and busy day with the family yesterday. But that did not stop me from waking up early this morning. I have to.. I need to actually. Because I have listed my To Dos for this Sunday using (again) my new Nokia phone. I am certainly enjoying the notes and calendar features of the phone (big grin).

This Sunday is Pampering Day (big, wide grin). I bought hair colors yesterday, one for me and one for my sister-in-law. Its my Christmas gift to her. As soon as my Mom's done with the laundry, we started with the hair coloring procedure. My sister-in-law always do mine. The hair color I bought would give a reddish effect on my hair. I should look like a red-head chick after my hair color procedure is done (lol).

Unfortunately, my Nokia Celphone with built-in 2megapixel camera was not able to capture the reddish effect/reflection on my hair. By the way, the photo above was taken using the secondary camera of the phone. The celphone actually has a video call feature, that's why it has a secondary camera.

This is my sister-in-law's coloring kit (hahaha...) I used the primary camera of the celphone and I also turned on the flash before I took the photo (that explains the bouncing light on the lower part of the photo).

After the hair coloring session, my Mom and I went to the nearby Salon for our manicure and pedicure. We always visit the Salon every other week actually. I can't share you photos of my pedicured toes, I'm shy (lol) (big grin).

Well, that's just about it. That's our Pampering Sunday. I hope you also had a fun and relaxing weekend. Click on the Pixelbug badge below to see more weekend photos. You are also welcome to share your weekend photos with us. Hope to see you at PixelBug next week!
