A Gift from Santa

I can't believe what Santa gave me this Christmas Season (blushing) (big grin)(still in shock). He sent me a Sony VAIO W-Series Mini Notebook! I love you Santa! (hugs and kisses.. lots of them!)

And to add more happiness to the unbelievable is the color he picked for me - he got me a pink mini notebook. Love it! I think there are three colors available for the W Series - Brown, Silver and Pink. He got me a pink (yey!) Obviously I can't hide my excitement (and I still can't believe it actually). This is really unexpected. I didn't have a hint; not a clue that Santa is giving me this amazing gift.. and its pink! I love you Santa! My warm hugs and sweet kisses are all for you!

An Early Christmas Gift

I got this transparent skin protector as an early Christmas gift from my nephew. He gave it to me early because he was thinking that I might buy one for my notebook. I told him that in case I am buying one he would definitely know about it because I am going to ask him to accompany me and help me choose what to buy.

The skin protector he gave is a bit big, which is a good thing (big grin), because we were able to use the excess protector to my iPod and celphone. I had a hard time installing it to my notebook. One should be very careful and make sure that the surface of the lcd screen is clean. Otherwise, the dirt will be trapped inside the skin protector. For the iPod, it was not that hard to install, probably because the screen is small, hehehe...

Thanks Kuya for the early Christmas gift! Mwah!

Back to Desktop

I am back to using our desktop computer again; my netbook has a problem again (sad face). I am planning to replace it next year. But now, I don't think I can still wait for next year. My nieces and nephew are also using our desktop computer; and now that I don't have my netbook, we have to make a schedule for the use of the desktop computer to make sure that all of use do not miss our assignments and homeworks. Right now, I am just on leave from work that is why I am able to do my blogging assigments early (I went to the doctor this morning for a check up. Sorry I can't share my doctor's check up adventure for the day, hehehe..)

Anyway, I am definitely going to buy a replacement unit for my netbook. I am choosing between laptops and netbooks as replacement. There are a lot of things I am considering actually - cost, quality and features of the replacement unit; and the payment terms (big grin).

New Celphone For Me

Last week I was telling my friend that I want to replace my celphone with a new unit. I was a bit sad while I was telling her about it because I would be able to buy the replacement next year. It would be the best time for me to buy because by then I am finish paying for my iPod which I acquired through a deferred payment facility. It was actually the 2nd gadget I bought using my credit card and paid through a deferred payment facility. The first one was my digital camera. Anyway, my sadness doubled when I learned that my netbook's battery is also defective (sad, long face). Now I am confuse. I can only afford to buy one item at a time. Otherwise, it is going to be a tight budget for me the whole year next year (sad face).

But fortunately, this afternoon I saw my monthly bill for my celphone. I was staring at it,, analyzing my consumption (i.e. the text messages, call and data charges). Then I suddenly remembered the retention program of the telco companies that they offer to their subscribers. Its almost two years since the last time I availed of it. And so to verify this, I called the phone company and inquired. Yey! I am already qualified for the program. I also inquired for the phone that I like. According to the customer service agent, the unit I want is available but I would need to add some cash since my plan is a little lower than the plan required to get the unit for free. But that's okay, the cash amount is much lower than the actual cost of the unit. It would be a great deal if ever. Now I need to save money for it; hopefully I would be able to have my new phone before the year ends.

My Netbook's Charger

For the last four weeks, I have been trying to find a replacement for my netbook's charger. Whenever I have a chance to dropby the malls or the shops that sell electronic devices, I would ask if there is an available charger for my netbook. I wrote something about the problems I have encountered with my netbook, which I posted in my other blog. And the charger is one of my problem. My netbook and the temporary-fixed charger is still working - but not perfectly (sad face). Sometimes, I would encounter problems when loading a page from the internet. Anyway, during my search, I have discovered something new (again) about netbooks and laptops. I was advised by the salesman from one of the electronic and computer shops I was able to visit, as a replacement to my defective charger, I may also consider buying an ordinary charger (in other words, not the exact type and model as my existing charger) provided that it has the same voltage output as my current charger. Nice (I thought). But I spoke too soon. A replacement type is hard to find too! Geez! Now, I am thinking of considering the option of buying online; direct from the US. I have seen several sites that offers and sells computers and peripherals, like Buy.com or maybe direct from the manufacturer of my netbook.
